I compared 7 different types of shells in this video.

I shot them from ~100 - 150 feet, using a few ranging shells so I'd be pointing to the right part of the sky.
They were shot in this order.

Shotgun Shells (Pyro King) 43.5 grams average
Blue(too dark a blue to see numbers)
      Red (A23/7)
      Maximum Exposure, 45.5 grams average
      Green Peony
      Red Peony w Blue Stars
      Rambo Kids, 69.5 grams average
      Golden and Green Peony
      Silver Palm Tree
      Excaliber, 140.5 grams average
      Golden Crysanthemum
      Crackles
Golden One (Kylin King), 63 Grams average (Donated by a friend)
White and Red Glitter with Red Bouquet
Green to Purple w Green Bouquet (Exploded in tube)
Super Magnum (Kylin King), 87 grams average (Donated by a friend)
      Green Peony with Crackling
      Sea Green and Purple Peony
      Double Lightning
Double Red Tail to Blue star and Silver and Blue Star
Double Silver Tail to Crackling, and Crackling.

All except 2 tubes were 12" pyrogear tubes. I tested the second Excaliber, and the second Double Lightning with 15" Pyrogear tubes.
The first Excal had stars that almost touched down, but the second one did get a higher lift.
The Kylin Kings were nice, but they might have been better in a taller tube also since they seemed low, and stars almost touched down with the second one of those.
With Double Lightning I think the higher tube helped with directionality, but not sure it helped much with height, the shell going off going up might have been a fluke.

Before the test, the weight difference alone had me thinking the excals would really impress me the most, and although they did have the best bang, the extreme asymetry of the Crysanthemum had me less impressed.
Almost all the shells had something going for them.
The premature burst in the tube has me less impressed with the Golden One, but I admit 2 shells is a small sample.

Wow, incredible video quality Dave. Your mission, should you decide to accept it. Shoot a video of every firework out there.

      big dave,

the golden one did not prematurely burst in the tube.. They are a mine shell to a break. I was expecting more.. I am liking the super magnum shell.. looks to have the largest break to me.

      Salty,

I was there, and I know what they are supposed to look like(It was supposed to look like the one before it) and what it sounded like.

It DID burst in the tube.

Instead of a bouquet to a shell it was just a extremely over energetic bouquet.
I was worried that it had damaged the tube or my rack.

I was happy to see the tube survived, it even cleaned some of the left over crud from lift powder in the tube, but I wouldn't endorse this method of cleaning tubes.

great comparison video.I was able to shoot many of those shells recently also,I always liked Beihai best-Kylin Super Magnums really suprised me,except for some low breaks,as was said, they were huge and symetric.
Loud too! I got these instead of the other Big canisters this time-other Windmill kits have SM's in them, try them out-bring a few Excals along too
