I wrote a whole handfull of reviews some good and some not so good and let me tell you everyone which wasnt good was not posted. I even went out of my way to give it the nicest negitive review I could and to no luck. I guess they dont want your negitive input just positive.

Yes, others have noted this as well, Phantom almost never posts anything less than a 4 star review. A couple times I've amused myself by looking for bad reviews, a couple 1 star reviews must have snuck through for these ones:

Phantom may be a lot of things, but they are not stupid. They throw in a handful of not so great reviews so they will have something to fall back on if someone accuses them of never posting a negative comment.
You can't honestly expect them to post many negative comments about the products they make a living on. That would be as senseless as naming a business "We'll Steal Your Cash Auto's" or "Taste Like Crap Ice Cream". I have very little use for Phantom, but I have to respect their business model and marketing methods. |

Both of those bad reviews are on the big tube items that are on the way out, in a few years those will be a thing of the past.
Phantom does not have much to loose by posting bad reviews of those. The do as someone pointed out gain the fact that they DO post some bad reviews. They should post the bad along with the good. I tell everyone that the items like Large Happy and other generic items are no good but I still sell lots of them. Some people buy them because they actually like them and others buy them because they have shot one of those every year that they can remember. |

They were in their heyday before big cakes were around. I used to sell a few because people would ask for them. Now no one wants them. Look at catalogs from the 90's and you will see tons of them. Look now and you will see very few, some places do not sell anything over a #500 anymore. |

It is hard to blame them for not posting bad reviews, that is the inevitable conflict of interest when they are both the manufacturer and the seller. Most computar part sellers are just middlemen, so they have real reviews that are positive and negative, they don't have as much to lose by being honest if they carry a better product as well. Phantom on the other hand doesn't want anything negative, but then they aren't reviews, they are endorsements. But that's just me being an idealist...
It does seem that big tube items are going away, they are less common in the stands etc than I remember them when I was young. Black Cat and Phantom still make them, but many newer/high quality companies like Brothers, Winda, World Class, etc don't make them at all. I'll be happy to see those deceptive POSs go away...

I was talking to a manager of one of the Phantom stores last week. He said that they don't make that much money selling the tubes. He said it was one of the reasons that the Grucci #200, and #300's are only sold as an assortment now.

The only way they will post a bad review is it you recommend another phantom item in the bad review. like this "this item isnt good at all i didnt like it i would rather much stick to the wolf pack shell"

I wonder if you could sneak something through by giving it a 5 star rating, then in the comments saying it sucks?

If you say something is better, it has to be something they sell.

Actually, I am agreeing here.
Because after reviewing Silver Sonic Warheads with lowest rating nothing was posting. |

I noticed that Bob Weaver has a few reviews on Phantom's website.
His reviews always start off with Outstanding!! I wonder if he's ever submitted any bad reviews. He probably has but the purple ghost squashed them.

Yeah, I trust his independent reviews, but when you work for somebody else, you can't exactly be honest... Too bad, because he knows his stuff.
