Mainly because people do not understand that whole stick in ground, light fuse, get away. and do not shoot at people or things warning on each one of them.

They would rather act like idiots and shoot at each other.

I always want to tell peope doing stuff like that. "you'll put your eye out"

I guess that is why the CPSC has also killed the skyrockets. When I was young growing up, the idea of shooting a Roman candle or a skyrocket at someone just never entered my mind. I guess I was brought up right. Yeah I had never even known what the hell a Roman candle war was until I saw some posted here ...some kids on yourtube or some site like it. This is one of the reasons I am for fireworks permits. One last chance to educate and at least try to weed out morons.

Too bad longhorn does not still make those "American made 10 ball candles" anymore.

Those things would outdo any Chinese candle I have ever saw.
They had great deep colors and they shot twice as far as any other candle around.

but it seems that Candles have been toned down like some of the other classic fireworks.
Remember when you could buy a pack of jumping jacks and light one and if you timed it right you could toss it in the air and it would fly like a color rocket.

OK, Jeff you mentioned those longhorn rockets last year in the "best of" survey. Hell you may have even mentioned them when Bob Weaver did the
1st. "Best of" two years ago.

Could someone please remake these candles for Jeff?

Patriotic and WFBOOM carry an excellent 5 ball candle called Fire Ball. Each shot goes very high, and the colors are good. They come packed 4 to a cello and feature an all red candle, a green one, one that has color changing stars going from red to green, and one with green to red stars.

I vote for Comet Over America too. But I still haven't tried any of the PyroKing candles yet. I still have a couple of the good F.T. candles from a few years ago from Phantom. Hey Jeff have you tried the Jumbo Jumping Jacks from Phantom yet. There alot of fun. Tape a bunch of them to a piece of fast visco and run.

Those Pyro King candles look interesting. I particularly love the plain brown wrap that Victory uses on their labels. Looks like "B" kinda. I'm sure that's the reason. I have 2 packs of the old Phantom candles too. It pains me to light them. I actually shot all my Thunder Sticks too by mistake. I thought I had a pack left but they were Blue Streaks. I know there are better rockets but it's a bit of nostalgia that's gone. I wish I would've kept some of the old Boomer ladyfingers with the red, green, and yellow as well as the old Red Lantern super charged flashlight crackers. They are impossible to find anymore.

yes, and I still have a scar on my ankle from where one jumped up my jeans when I accidentally dropped it.

When did they drop off to what they are now?

I like the 5 pack mixed by Megabanger and Black Cat Handful. You get 36 packs of 5 instead of the average 24 packs of 6. The loudest report candle no doubt is BOOM BOOM candle by World Class.

Have you ever shot the old Temple of Heaven Flashing Thunder 8-shots and the newer legal 8-shot surprise? How do the reports compare to The Handful with the World Class Candle?

Now that's old school CB . T.O.H Flashing Thunder Candles are slightly louder than Black Cat Handfuls. But with WC Boom Boom Candles I sell and average of 80 cases a season, pure retail. The only candle that can compare to the Boom Boom Candle in my opinion is Cosmo by Great Grizzley.
