2006 was the year of the 3" 9 shot racks. From the NOABS that I have seen it is a toss-up between Golden Bears Mission Impossible and World Class The Big Dog. Honorable Mention goes to World Class March or Die
.

Mission Impossible here. The Big Dog had the blowout issue, so no honorable mention here.

Honorable mention Red Sky by Megaton. Only seen videos of them until the last Crackerjacks shoot. Saw 6 go off at once in three fronts about 150 feet long. WOW!

I will also vote for Forward's Chosen One. I haven't seen some of the others mentioned but gold mines to gold willows is a sure winner in my book. I also agree that the price makes is an appealing choice compared to the pricey NOABs.

QUICK...someone get on the horn with legends and tell them to make some chosen one-like cakes with thier blue mines and blue willows....make sure they get on the boat for 07!!! that would be insane. spread out a case or 2 of thoes into a massive front and it would be something real hard to forget.

Golden Bear Pyro Boy... If I had pick one from The Big Package, Solid Gold or Pyro Boy.. I think Pyro Boy would get the nod.

Did you shoot a GB Bear Claw? This was real close to my #1 pick but the duration was short.

My pick is Pyboboy also, the breaks in that thing rivaled MANY of the NOAB's!

I did like some of the new 3" 9 shot cakes that were out this year, but I'd have to go with Megabanger Cold Fusion or Imperial Garden. Both lovely large break cakes with lots of glitter. Nice. Course that Scuba Diver I saw a month or so ago was very nice as well.

I really liked the big symmetrical breaks of Mission Impossible and March or Die. The Big Dog has big symmetrical breaks, too, and a faster pace (nine shots in 16 seconds).
For the money, what about Bear Claw or PPS-9 by Golden Bear?

Hummmmm,
This is a tough choice considering the much improvement of the 500 gram performance. - 1st place, I would say would be Mission Impossible followed closely behind by, The Chosen One. I also really enjoyed Three for the Money by Black Cat. It is hard to gage which 500 gram is truely the best, based on individuals performance of such cakes.... now, on to grade the 200 grammers!

3" cakes have to take the cake. Giant breaks, loud sound...and if you shott 4 together it's unbelievable. I can't pick a favorite but the two best brands I saw were from World Class and Dominator. The only other one that deserves mention is the Brother's Knockout Brocade. Great brocade shells to be sure. Outside of the 3" category my vote is Red Pearl's Terror Takeout. 16 shot, 2" cake, colors alternating with hard crackle. Loud like you wouldn't believe and big symmetrical breaks. I realize Red Pearl isn't that mainstream but they put out some great stuff.
