I'm not bashing Phantom (They do have great products), but some of their reviews are IMO Ridiculous. There is also a similar thread on the old forum.

Kool, please remember that it is not Phantom's reviews but that of there customers. Many of those reviews are from young kids that don't really know what there talking about. Look at the words that the people use and you can usually tell there age and fireworks knowledge. Many have never shopped anywhere else but Phantom and have nothing to compare it too.

I agree those reviews definitely cannot be trusted. I bet some of them are by phantom employees so no products seem completely sucky. I trust pyroreview and bob weavers fireworks a-z guides much more.

I remember when I used to shop at Phantom I put up some bad reviews, but later when I went to look at them, they had been taken down, or never even been posted. So that told me that something was fishy about their "reviews".

LOTS of sellers will tell you that their products are the best and lowest cost available, but you have to look at these claims wih a somewhat jaundiced eye, whether they are being made by King Zoldan or other "lords of the realm" !

Well you don't think that Phantom, the biggest "scamers" in the world would tell you that the stuff they sell is way overpriced and of poor quality.
The worst is that I know this but still buy a few things from them ![]() ????

Same thing with me. Whatever I added a review, it did not immediately go on the review list as I expected. When I came back at a later time, mine was never added. So I knew the reviews were being filtered. Possibly they were just being thrown in the "bit bucket" and they were only putting up the "select" reviews.

I also have commited a sin and shopped at Pantom before, but that was before I knew better, last year a total of only $300.00 and this, well, a few items I forgot to get for a total of $35.00.
I have posted some descent reviews on their site, before I knew better again, and some not so good reviews. Well, reading these posts, I went back to take alook and guess what? The bad posts are not there anymopre? HUM ... Yes there is a pattern here ladies and gentlemen.......

I too have had poor reviews that were either never posted or were only up a very short time.
It's very sad, because the Phantom website - all things considered, is very nice. I'm a Phantom customer out of necessity, and I'm always interested in product reviews, especially of the 500 Gram repeaters and other 'expensive' products. Like someone above me said, I look for reviews written by someone who sounds like they're graduated from the 8th grade. Many don't. What *really* grinds my gears are the reviews obviously written by kids talking about mishandling fireworks - "these are fun to put into soda cans.." stuff like that. I try to be as descriptive and fair as possible on my reviews to help others, and wish more people did the same. Maybe I'll send an e-mail to Phantom expressing my dismay, but in all honesty, I think they know quite well that the members of this forum are not their bread and butter. The trick is convincing them that fair, honest reviews will actually help them in the long run. If you don't have the best prices - have the most credibility and integrity. |

I've given Phantom products reviews that I likely wouldn't give now, or would change quite a bit. When I first moved to Indiana from California I didn't know anything about fireworks other than I liked them a lot. I was awfully easy to impress. OK, I still am. But I've seen that, for example, the Grand Finale assortment isn't really all you could possibly want for a good Fourth. It's not all kids, sometimes it's adults who've never been exposed to better fireworks. I think the Phantom customer is the person who thinks about fireworks for one day out of the year and doesn't do much if any comparison shopping. There's not a lot of motivation for them to worry about the accuracy of the reviews. Anyone who knows better already, well, knows better.

I posted a review about the black cat 12 shot angle rack last year. It is not worth the money and the breaks are small and it never got posted on their website.
