Default Bigfireworks product information discussion new and old, thread started 2/18/2009

I thought we could talk about bigs product in this thread. I think many members have voiced concern that the group buy thread was getting a little off track with this kind of discussion and making it hard to follow the important group buying information. In a result of that I’ve received a ton of PM’s asking similar product information questions that I think should be posted for everyone’s equal benefit. The mods were also showing concern of so many different bigfireworks threads so maybe this will help cut down on a few of them. I don’t know if this is a good or bad idea but lets give it a try.

Lets use this thread to discuss any and all of bigs product new and old. If someone has a product question post it here instead of making a bunch of separate threads about one item.

If you had between $500-700 to spend at Bigs, what would be on the top of your list? They've got so much stuff I don't even know what to get! I'm trying to get an order in while so I can still take advantage of the 10% off for 'early birds'.

Any suggestions?

Currently I have:
B.M.F.
9 Lives / 9 Dragons
Crown Royale
Sexy Rider
96 Shot Color Pearl
Alabama Slammer
Matrix Pyro
All Pro Assortment
Sychronisity
KA Aerial Barrage

Those items are a touch over $700. I guess it gives an idea of what I'm looking for, maybe there are comparable items that are cheaper, or packed better. Open to suggestions. They have other things I was interested in but that are currently out of stock. This probably won't be my only order before the 4th, but it will be my first.

Good stuff you have listed there. Nine lives is the only one I would question at this point. Sparky is going to test it and let us know.

If you can only make one purchase (not saying that's the case, didn't know), I would hold off a bit and let someone else pick up Crown Royale, and 9 Lives first. Not saying these aren't any good, don't have a clue. I don't know anyone who's shot these yet, but they are in stock at Bigs so someone's bound to pick up a couple. Sparky and I were workin' on Tiger yesterday, but he didn't bite yet. Hang in there though someone will. I picked up a case of Sexy Rider and I'm gonna shoot it this weekend along side a Walloping Wolverines (picked up from Millers so it's an '08 and we know what they were like). I'm gonna shoot 9 cans/ball shells in the middle so we can compare them all. Should be kinda cool and hope to put to rest the rumor of Sexy Rider being watered down. We'll post vids by Sunday at the latest. I might sacrifice a KA, but a few guys have said they were still nice so I might just go on their recommendation

Anyway, I only say hold off because the only thing we've seen so far is vids from China. Never know what's going to show up here. Now, if you want to pick a few up and fire them for vids for the rest of us, who am I to stop you

As far as the All Pro Assortment goes...would it be more cost effective to piece together the same fireworks? Or is it even possible? Obviously there are the Reaper shells in there, I'm guessing the 500 grammers are the professional pack? How bout the 200 grams that are included are they the 16 Shot Aerial Barrage? Since I'm not getting TONS of stuff I like to get a variety of things, so assortments seem to be a decent option although their is usually a bit more of a price premium when buying that way.

You can get alot more if you go seperate. With that assortment you get 12-reapers 300's 6-of the pros. and only 8 of the 200's By going seperate you would get 4 pack pro, 12 #300 reapers, 12- fantastic 4, 12- 16 shot aerial Barrage. Total of 4-500's 24-200's and 12 repears. With this you are still about $10 under the other package. You could substitue one case of 200's for another case of 500's and be about even. Actually if you want to stretch it out a little toss out the case of reapers and go with shells. The reapers are awesome but if you are on a budget you can get more bang for your buck with regular shells. JMHO

Probably won't be my last order, so I'll prolly still pick up a case of Excals or something similar before the 4th. Just wanted to start off with a decent variety of things. Last year we had mostly shells, this year I'd like a higher cake count than we had before. I'd want at least a case of the Reapers though, I know per unit they are quite a bit more than shells, but I've heard nothing but good reviews and I think they would be a nice addition to my reloadables.

Nice list, I would dump the All Pro Assortment and get pro pack 4 (858), Allstar Action, and Liberty Shot shells for 12 bucks less that the AP Assrt. You could also add a case of the 2 1/4 reapers and be about $15 more than the assortment.

the nice thing about the reapers is that you are sitting at about 2 dollars per big break shell. whereas the price of a NOAB now is sitting at about 5 dollars per shell. and the reapers you can fuse in whatever pacing you want.

Then again if the economy doesnt get any better who knows what any of us will be doing............OH MY GOD I cant believe I just said that! NNOOOO say it aint so captain. Hell no I cant go more than week or two without blowing something up. Back to the teenage years, I can blow something up. Whats the last thing a redneck says before somthing explodes......hey ya'll watch this!

I have a few things on my list that I was wondering if anyone had any opinion on. I haven't heard anyone mention the following..

Ghost Ryder http://www.bigfireworks.com/video/1612.wmv
(Plan on using right after my fountain front, and listen to the crowd say, OOH more fountains, then WHAM!!)Surprise!! LOL

Ya Damn Fool http://www.bigfireworks.com/video/860.wmv

I shot Ghost Ryder last year and was dissapointed with the fountain part of it. The breaks were nice but the fountain totally sucked! It was only about 3-4 foot tall and very blah. For alot less money you could act like you were going to use some fountains again then bam out pops a decent shell.

GT I was thinking this as well. The only thing I dont like about the Reapers is the limited colors and effects. I noticed when I was at Bigs last year that the new 500's had a better variety but the comments on them arent so great. It would be nice if they just made the other effects in the 300 series. I noticed some blue effects and some other nice ones.

I wouldn't care so much about the fountain part. I plan on buying some Tommy Rocks, and Noisy Niagaras as my good ones. Maybe some Amazing Race fountains too. I had some of those last year, and they were decent.

I felt the same way about GR, I think you could get the same effect putting a 200g fountain with a 200g cake

I like the concept, if the fountain was MUCH better then a few mine shots to some good breaks...now you have something.

I shot Crown Royal last week. It was ok if you are looking for a blue segment but was nothing special.
