Default WA PyroU Spring Shoot 09

Sounds like we have some interest in the spring shoot already. I'll start the talks as some of us have the winter itch.

Gosh darn it! I hit the stupid 8 instead of the 9 (unless someone has a time machine)

Anxious? lol, I had NYE planned back in August. Plus, I'm have time off from school right now...got to think about SOMETHING. And I was ready for the spring shoot as soon as I found out I couldn't be at the fall one (I have friends asking about the spring shoot already too)

Plus, I figure some of us need to plan out several months ahead.

Well, nothing wrong with starting us out early. I'm looking forward to the Spring shoot this year (as always of course). Also looking forward to a new flow of things. If i'm not mistaken, Link talked about everyone (who is able) doing a single fuse board and then linking them together, or making each board a cue on someones system? Something along those lines. No "group finale" really. That way we can still demo product AND have time to fire the board show. There won't be 3-4 different things to get to.

Let me know if this wasn't what you were thinking Link. All I know is this idea doesn't really require a "head pyro"...or, as previous years have shown, "head pyroS" (Thanks RPS!!!). I'm looking forward to sitting back and watching a show this year!

Just a thought, have the boards in a 'theme' of sorts, ie willow or loud or color, etc. To make show segments.

I wonder how this is going to work out the day of the shoot? I'm just thinking that unless guys come ready with all of one type of product, themed boards may be hard to pull off? I would say we could have people bring product and divide it up like we have for the group finale, but then arrival times come into play again.

Just a thought that came to mind when i read the themed idea. I like it too personally...I just want this to be as relaxed as possible seeing as the last two years a few of us have been running around long into the demo getting things together.

No, I think we all show up with a theme in mind and a plan for the product we bring or buy. You fuse your donation there, a couple dozen cakes on a couple boards and let her rip. If you only have a couple cakes, so what... fuse it. The Sr. guys can help figure where to place 'em best. Light mine first, I don't care.

I'll be there early with food, drink, product, muscle, fuse and tape. I'll be done early so I can help late arrivals. It's a great venue, I'll do all I can.

Well - I'll bring my 384 cue firing system and ematches for those that are not the hardcore "Have to light it by hand" pyro's...

I'll be trying out some choreographed music for NYE and if that works out maybe I'll try some of that for the shoot... I tested a new version of Cremora this week - produced a perfect 3' diameter golden globe - if I can reproduce that consistently I may have to make a couple of those.. It's a low effect - 10' but pretty cool..

19 days till NYE...

Again, I by no means want to shoot down the themed board idea...but like Al is saying...if we just have guys dream up a board, and then fuse that together, I think we'd still have one great show!

An idea if you will:
Maybe we can have guys come planning on what their board will look like. BUT, if we're able to, maybe have some guys also bring product to contribute or they can pick up some from BC (still assuming we're a go??? fingers crossed). Then guys can build their own boards but we'll have a little stock of donations to make some themed boards. Some of the guys who either aren't able to bring a whole board worth of product or guys who show up maybe a little later can help fuse up themed boards of donated product. That way we could have a mix of mixed boards and themed boards. Could help slow or quicken the pace of the show depending on where we put the themed boards.

Just a a thought

Oh man... I need a job! (For all of you who don't already know, I'm 16.) I think I can squeeze one in between my studies.
Cremoras! I love those things! Skylighter has a tutorial for making them in 5 gallon buckets! But... I think the police might think that BC's house just exploded! If I can get into the group buy, and if I can indeed get a job that fits into my schedule, I will be entering a board. Are we going to start rulemaking yet, or worry about that later?

I'm not sure if we are doing the competition, as I think the idea was just to do a show made up of different members boards. Unless some still wanted to compete, I don't think we need competition rules.

Dang... Looks good to me! I don't know what everything in there does though... A lot of the names sound familiar, but I can't recall what they look like. Do you think we could sneak some smb's in there?

Well I'm in for a board. There is a display piece (to remain secret) that I wish to test out before my 4th show, so this would be a great oppertunity to give it a shot.

new to the this forum.... And slightly new to the area. I don't have access to product but I am willing and able to help set up. I have worked on shows in California and here in Washington. Love the chance to learn more from others. Let me know.

Don't worry about access to product. You can get into the WA group buy at BC's private stand, and that has everything! Unless you aren't going to spend any $$. More people is better!

I'm in for either a noisy or blue effect board or a noisy blue board as my addition to the show.

Jellis, Welcome. We have folks with all kinds of pyro backgrounds and its a pretty laid back and fun group to hang with. The more the merrier so you are welcome to attend, product or not. Like Ammosmoke said, you can get in on the group buy and get access to some sweet deals if you are so inclined.

All of this is still under the assumption BC is hosting again. He is a great guy on tribal land and takes good care of us. I have to suck up a little.....

Hey, I've been wondering for a while what product makes these effects... This is from the video of Lamrinth and RapidShot's show from the last spring shoot. The second one had giant flying fish with glitter if it wasn't clear from the pic. Do any of you know what product creates these effects?

I'm not sure what their shoot list included, so its hard to say exactly what made those effects. They seem to be fairly common effects if i'm not mistaken (which i very well might be). In any case, I'm sure Lamrith of Rapidshot will poke their heads in here soon enough and might be able to give you a better idea.

Anyone considered a TWO DAY shoot? We could literally demo an entire night easily. And then have another night for boards, overflow demo, etc. Just a thought.

The second picture is the effect like this cake: Brothers Special Forces
There are more than a few 500g cakes with this effect. Black Mamba shell kits also have shells with that effect in the pack.

Sounds like fun to me, I'd be there both days if at all possible. I would suggest trying to get a couple shows in each night for people that can only make one night rather than a day of just demos.

Oh, and check your PMs Steve!

Anyone start putting dates on their calenders yet?

Would like to start on picking a date, had a hell of a time getting a hotel for the last one. The sooner its on the calender the easier it is to attend and form the schedule around the shoot.

Have a safe NYE!

Have you picked possible dates yet? I have a good idea what my schedule is. Anyone for a new poll? I'll take vacation if I'm not off.
