Default "illegal fireworks" are not just an American problem

Found this article interesting. Consumer fireworks are legal in N. Ireland but this article demonstrates the dangers of illegal explosives. The "bangers" they are talking about are similar to M-80's, not firecrackers.

That's really sad. I'm pretty sure my dog would try to catch fireworks if you let her.

I agree, this story is sad, I could imagine a dog doing this

My dog has a weird fascination with mortars, not HDPE, but the cardboard ones. He's been working on/chewing on a liberty shot mortar for the past week. Other than that, he knows to run when the fuse gets lit.

Funny story, I lit off an KOD last night. Reggie (my rottweiler) follows me everywhere, mostly because he want's to either hang out or help out. I was about to light the KOD, and he came up to me, when he saw the fuse start up, he ran a little bit and we watched from ~50 ft, with my dad and I. I'm not sure he knows hes a dog just yet.

Very Sad!! Poor Dog. Fireworks are a worldwide problem when they are not used in a manner in which they were intended or used by people that don't know what they are doing. A little knowledge, common sense ,and safety goes a long way.

Dogs are attracted to stuff that smells like s*&t dude! Ever wonder why they like to go rolling and lather theirselves with cow flops. Take a big wiff of that tube several minutes after you fired it and it smells like sulfur.

Sure but you are talking about kids that have grown up in a society where it has been "acceptable" to throw stones and petrol bombs at the police and even the British Army so tossing a few m-80's around seems safe enough.

yeah that sux about the dog. I laughed the first time I saw this clip cause I could see my girl's doxie doing the same thing.
http://video.aol.com/video-detail/fi...dog/3372699168
until I thought about how badly it COULD have ended. Luckily I really don't think I'd have that kind of problem with the 2 "vicious attack" dogs I have. They "Roh roh roh.....Roh roh roh," at a bottle rocket from behind a tree at the other end of the yard and look at you like " I think I scared it off, you go check for us."
