Default Recommended Crackling Fountains

Hey guys,

You can say I am a fountain type of guy particulary due to the laws in florida. I was wondering if I could get some suggestions for loud (as in crackling) fountains. I have shot off alot of fountains so I am hoping to hear new suggestions.

Black Cat Pop Goes the Fountain (200g) is a good inexpensive one. Brothers Pure Fantasy is classified as a fountain but shoots 3 mines of crackle to a decent height during it's performance (Legend Quest seems to be almost the same thing as Pure Fantasy). For 500 gram fountains, Shogun's Tailgate Party or Hales Category 5 have absolutely huge crackle finales.

By far the best fountain I have ever seen would be...

Incredible long lasting silver crackling fountain. I use 3 of these in my show every year.

Pop goes the fountain (Black Cat), 64 sec, about 10' and 6' wide.

Pot of Gold, (Black Cat), 63 sec. Similar high and width to Pop Goes The Fountain. This fountain has 3 sections of 21 sec each of different kinds of gold crackle.

Ratta tat tat (Black Cat). If you want a good whistle with your crackle then get this. Similar to Pop Goes The Fountain but has two whistles during performance. 55 seconds.

Impressive Blossom (Black Cat). Not sure if they make this anymore, but it is a 2 minute version of Ratta tat tat, but I think taller and wider.

Fire Cracker Fountain (Phantom) was a noisy, crackling fountain.

Well, as long as they aren't '08s. Make sure to check, they had a run of them last year with NO crackle (well, a little, but not the crazy crackle we were used to).

Along with the other's mentioned, Forward's Grotesque has a sick finale to it. King Bird also used to make a fountain called Magnum Fountain. Highest I've ever used by far, but hard to find anymore.

no, but forward sells a fountian that makes that one look small

you want huge crackle, this is the one you want:

grotesque fountian http://www.millerfireworks.com/forwa.../grotesque.wmv

lol, it's just disgusting. the crackle is everywhere and just when you think it can't get bigger it does.

it's nice and quick too, which is nice for timing purposes. lots of these get sold to some of our 1.3 shooters who want to add some 1.4 for low level fronts.

we have a 1.3 guy here who shoots for us that uses these all the time, loves them.

EDIT: damn coach you are quicker than me

Anyone had any experiencewith Black Cat Wild Blue Yonder and Black Cat Crackle Fest?

Both indicate they are crackle only (no whistle).

I'll take crackle over whistle ANY day....

Crackle Fest is ok, but Eat My Dust by Black Cat is better. One of the best crackle fountains I've seen for the price. Crackle Fest is not straight crackle, though I'm pretty sure there was no whistle. Eat My Dust is just pure crackle.

Other faves for me are World Class Behemoth, Bigger then Life, World's Strongest and World's Highest (oddly when I shot them side by side, World's Strongest shot higher then World's Highest).

Hale's/Pyro Predator Annihilator is very similar if not a rewrap of Behemoth. Hale's Maniac gets honorable mention, it's not straight crackle, but has 3 huge bursts of crackle that are very fun and surprising. Category 5 is crazy huge, widest crackle fountain I've seen.

One other cool item (though it's a fountain/cake combination) is Totally Jacked by Asia Pyro, starts out as a good solid crackle fountain, and then has some really great crackle mines to crackle breaks. I usually shoot a case or 2 of these at a time, big audience favorite.

TNT makes one called Ckickets which is a good crackle fountain. Is 3 or 4 dollars and the duration is pretty good. This is about the only TNT item I will buy.

So Black Cat & TNT seem to have a few Fountain favs among the Pyros. I always thought that BC & TNT were on the lower quality side and were always bashed ??

Who even sells some of the BC fountains mentioned ? Wouldnt mind trying !!

Black Cat does have a number of high quality fountains. (It also has some average ones and some dogs as well). I think people seem to bash them about their non-fountain items.

BC has some of the best fountains on the market.
but I used Forward Grotesque fountains this year as a lower effect to a case if sir vesa and they were spectacular..
you can see the fountain and then the crackle just goes nuts at the beggining of my 4th vid..
http://www.pyrouniverse.com/gallery2...48/ppuser/3098

Sky Rage, Big Fighter, Grotesque Fountain, sir vesa, silver razzle, coconut and pyro candy as a show starter..

Thanks guys for all the feedback. That Grotesque fountain has a beastly crackling barrage. Does anyone think it has a better crackle than category 5? By the way, who makes Category 5?

You might also consider using some of those giant crackle balls (Kryptonite?). The crackle lasts for a few seconds. You fuse some together to get the length of crackle and the density you want. The crackle burst is 12' in all directions. I did this at STL 2009.

Kryptonite is an amazing crackling ball! I hope Bells has some this year. I'm definitely thinking of suggesting silver crackling fountain to bells.
