Why are the shells busting so low??

I thought they were busting suprisingly high for consumer stuff. I maybe saw one break that I thought was a little low but otherwise great stuff.

Any idea what all the commets are from? I can't think of any 1.4 stuff with that nice of a commet.

It was extremely nice in person. Probably one of my favorite parts of the entire week.

There were definitely some that broke low, but it was a great show! It would be cool to get a list of everything used there. I saw what looked like Yeah Baby Yeah/Thirsty Thursday, not sure about the rest of it because they are allowed to chop cakes up to use each tube individually. I think I heard that the comets used last year were from Brothers Turkey Shoot, looks like the same ones in this year to me:

I would use FF comets, theres a bazillion of them in one cake!
I liked your 2006 show only slightly better than your 2007 only because it was fresh due to the music change. I know you had a lot of diffrent fireworks this time around but dont forget bees and swimmers for a pace change?

I saw a member of the Cracker Jacks club tearing cakes apart putting certian tubes in certain zip lock baggies. I remember seeing the display and thinking it was the main display for several minutes.... I was not the only one either.... I heard that Critical Acclaims were used as well.

Yes, we definately break cakes apart and use individual tubes.

Comets were from Turkey Shoot
Mines were Critical Acclaim
One set of the Cakes was Yeah Baby Yeah.

So my only question is.....how many cues and e-matches did you use??

I would like to think that someday I could compete in the one of the Class C displays...but without a endless supply of e-matches, computer firing system and lots of manpower the Unlimited will remain out of touch.

But, your "Class C Display" puts most of the Pro shows I saw that week to shame.

We had 360 cues using over 400 ematches over 20 Pyromate SM-32 modules. The firing system is the most expensive part of the project.

I highly recommend that you participate in the Class C competitions. While the unlimited gets a little crazy, remember that there is Small and Large as well. This year, our club had participants in all 3 categories. The winner of the small used 2 of the first generation Chinese wireless 12-shot boxes. The winner of the Large used a home-made push button system.

If anyone has questions about competing in Class C competitions or needs advice, feel free to send me any email. I want to encourage more participation and we are glad to share our tips.

(I posted this a while ago in another thread)

It was done with 2 shooting positions 50 feet apart, and a wheel central (you can't really make out the wheel in the video, but there is a separate video of the wheel). The Large competition lets you have up to 3 areas with a total perimeter of 100 feet, so basically I had 2 areas the size of 2 sheets of plywood 50 feet apart, and the wheel (which counts as an area) centered between and somewhat in front of those.

The rules specify a 5 minute maximum.

As I posted on the PGI thread, This was probably MY favorite show.

Actually my favorite display from a composition, choreography, product selection, and downright hard work and creativity was one of the unlimited consumer product competition entries. <Yes this is ME saying this >

Yes there was lots of stuff in some of the displays, And some pretty nice product in some, it's easy to impress with that.

My two runners up were actual displays by John Sagaria, and the OPAG show.
