I am wondering if it is safe to store base chemical compounds in polypropylene containers (ie. XXXX, XXXXXXX, etc). I will be storing individual compounds in their own containers.
Thanks

I don't think you should be talking about those two chemicals in the same sentence. I believe that is a NO,NO in these forums. I might suggest editing your post to exclude those chems.

I agree with berger. indivdual chems should be fine stored like that. keep them unmixed and stored apart.

Would you recommend putting the chemicals in plastic bags then into the containers or would you just put them in the containers?
If it is hyroscopic, I would use an airtight bag inside the container, otherwise whatever works best for you. I find deli containers and 2 gallon paint buckets handy for different things. I have graphite powder stored in a plastic bag and in another container because it is so messy when the lid snaps off.

Lots of coffee containers are real nice also as they typically have some type of handle or grip, and they are HDPE (Folgers is, I'm sure plenty others are...)
Guy walks into the local military recruiting office.
Sergeant says, "So you want to help defend the country?"
Guy says, "No, I just want salutes."
The question is... is shrapnel a polypropylene hazard?![]()
I told my wife I wanted some NOABs. She said "You already have no abs!" ba-dump-bump
No it says is Polypropylene a shrapnel hazard? I suspect if it's in liquid form and Shrapnel accidentally drank some of it that it would be a hazard to him. That's about all I have to say about the matter.

Don't either of you two know? Shrapnel isn't human and could drink XXXXX and XXXXX and be fine. That's what I heard at St. Louis I think?
....I need better jokes. I don't event think this post qualifies.

This thread has served its purpose. And chem talk is against forum rules anyway.
