    Video link dead...

My favorite crackling effect is the Machine Gun Shell cake from Phantom. Outside of that, I try to stay away from the effect.

The firecrackers we're allowed to have here might as well be crackle.

Good old crackling balls are still fun to light sometimes.

It depends how it's done. Check out Glorious/AFW Gunslinger. Here's a few videos of it. Don't judge it by the videos, it' really fills the sky. One of the few crackle cakes I like. Also, Bros. Curtain Call has a very nice crackle with horse tails.

Yes those Kryptonite giant crackle balls have a hugh burst of crackle. I got mine from Hales.

Here they are fused together into a string with a 2 second delay between each one. I removed the fancy paper to save on clean up. The crackle goes at least 12 feet in all directions. So you end up with a 24' wide and 12' high burst of crackle.

Here is video of some of the above string going off.

Never seen those before, very cool! I'll have to try and find them locally...

I had the same idea as Joe before I scrolled down and saw his post, closer together so you get a continuous run would be pretty cool, especially if elevated. What do they cost?

First try right clicking on the video and downloading it and then try playing it.

If that doesn't work, download divx codex/drivers or even player. I use divx with windows media player and it works fine.

As joe said, download it. It won't play for me in the browser, I get the big question mark also (firefox and vlc).

Awesome vid Joe, those sure do look like fun!

i'm quite sure just about every fireworks mfg and label has some sort of small and large crackling ball novelty. some dress them up, some sell them as is in a 6 count bag with a header card.

Those are pretty cool....never knew they existed. They look much better than Pete Schweddy's balls! Now I have to try them.

    Default Hales Krytonite

    I saw these shot.

They give off a beautiful GOLDEN spread of light crackle and cover a diameter of about 10 feet. Again the gold is beautiful. The essence of the effect is more the large break of golden color than the crackle.

These are nothing like the small crackling dragon eggs etc..

Robin's effect highlights more a crackle effect in my opinion; still nice though.

Not to be a spelling Nazi but I thought it was spelled "crackering" balls. No?
