That looks cool.
I would love to see a rack of those fired. Just the blast from the lift would be cool.
But of course you would have pimp your rack so that they are visible.
They would be perfect to make sure you do not have any duds left in the tubes.
You would also have to clean them real good after each use.

just a word of caution....
"just as strong" doesn't mean how it will deal with a missfire. "just as strong" seems to me indicates the pressure tested allowances for that pipe. so they may have just compared the HDPE max ppi to this clear stuff. it's not the pressure retention you want to worry about. the advantage of HDPE is the way it deforms, rather than fragments when there is a flowerpot. it won't produce shrapnel, it just makes the tube look melted. if i were you i'd purposley (from an uber safe distance) load a shell in upside down just to see what happens. if it breaks into shards....forget the idea.
but hey if it is like hdpe upon faliure.....how much does it cost per foot? lol

Okay for those of you that aren't star trek fans... It is a line from Star Trek IV...

be sure when you build these that you also build a automatic tube cleaner.

I was somewhere on the net reading about HDPE manufacture the other day. They said that they actually add pigment to the plastic to help keep the tube from breaking down due to light exposure. Must have been a pyro site, because I seem to remember them also discussing fiberglass tubes and the main problem with them was extreem temperatures, specifically cold, causing problems in them.

Alright. I am interested to see how well this experiment works. Better get out the PAM! Also my first post at the new forums, so testing that as well.
