These seem to have been toned down this year and are much smaller.

Tell me about it. I've got a whole case and they are nothing at all like the ones in that old pyroreview video.

I can no longer find the video on pyroreview. It was from someones backyard and I think you could could see a road with cars going by in the distance.

I have a video of one in my backyard from last year but its in the daytime. man you can just tell the difference, I dont think they have a double break anymore, and there way skinnier.

Thats odd. This year I split a case with another member and lit 1 off 2 months ago. It still had a decent break and report to it. Maybe I got lucky and got last years stock. I will make sure to get some vids next weex and hopefully you guys can too and we can compare.

The ones we got are double break and seemed like a decent rocket to me.

Hopefully I just got a bad batch or I might just be getting to used to the bigger rockets.

There's no way in hell that the case of Dominators I have are the same rocket as in the video I saw. They must have been changed. These rockets don't even have a shell in them. The stars are now loose inside a weak, thin walled 1" OD cardboard tube. Some appear to have a small salute amongst the starts and break charge.

I bought these because they seemed to be the next best thing to Night Witches, but these things aren't even in the same ballpark.

don't feel alone...if it makes you feel any better i dropped over $100 on a case of fire pheonixes and they were very watered down. the ones i had in years past were SICK. they had nice bright tails, at least 5 feet long and very thick, and the breaks were huge echoed up and down the river...

then i fire 144 of them for the "finale" and they completely SUCKED

what a let down.

i think everyone here has been "burned" (no pun intended) by a case of something that wound up being crap. so don't feel bad, it happens to a lot of guys

Ugh. I have yet to crack open the two cases I ordered. I was so looking forward to these. Oh well, perhaps the AOU WOW rockets will make up for any let down.

AOU WOW rockets are worth the price. very nice colors and a wide spread.

Well, if they watered down Dominators I don't think that it was the doings of the CPSC. IMO, that rocket was nice but no way was it overloaded. Probably, produced by a different plant in China or somebody just plain got greedy.

Casper, can you actually see the difference from some old ones to the new ones you have? I have some left from last year at the lake and I bought a case this year so I will compare on Saturday and post what I find then. I am hoping I get lucky, but I have Aou Wows also and I hope their still as good as last years.

Dominators haven't been great for a couple years now. Auo Wows are still good, some Aou Wows are now called Holy Balls. -- Pax

I didn't get a chance to light a Dominator, but I do a AOU WOW and it was good.

I just shot a couple dozen Dominators tonight and have to say that they are pretty nice rockets. Especially the willow rocket, the hang time is amazing. Too bad there's no way to tell which is which in the pack.

Night Witches still blew em away though.

Lantern,
That is the only negative(no names) thing I can say about the Dominator Rockets, otherwise they are a good performing rocket.
I don't remember the willow rocket, but I do like the glitter rocket.

That's weird because I don't remember a glitter rocket. Hmmmm.
I'll bring along the camera Tuesday when I do this all over again.:)

Hey Casper, I just compared this years to last years and I can't tell the difference. Shot a whole pile of them last night along with some Aou Wows, might have to change my favorite rocket to the Aou Wows!!!
Maybe you just got a bad package of four, hopefully the rest are still decent. Happy fourth!

I tested a few packs before I priced mine for my store. They were great:D

Mine were 6.95 a pack

The guy ...won't name name's... across the highway from me ... who gets the most business and is the biggest retailer by far in town was selling them for 11.95 !!!
