ok, so these are the big anticipated item of 2006 and they should be hitting distributors this fall. So, my question is, has anyone shot these yet, how do they compare to everything else and how much did you pay for a case?

nice pics, just as loud and big as i dreamed after seeing the brothers demo. yea, 2 cakes in one case so they shouldnt be that pricey or how can they sell them retail if people are paying 30 bucks a cake wholesale.

I'm figuring they'll be priced around the same as the other big Brother's cakes, Big and bold and Tears from heaven for instance. My supplier had them for 42 (big and bold) and 46 (Tears from heaven) a case 2/1 this year, so 45 to 50 dollars a case would seem about right.

Just got the new pricelist from spirit of 76 and i guessed pretty darn close on the price of these cakes, $52.50 for a case 2/1 ($26.25 each). The new "gold" pricelist(minimum $1500.00 order) has prices that should be slightly lower than most other places so figure just a little bit higher than that. You may think it's a little steep, but they are worth it IMO!

I have just seen seen the new Spirit of '76 gold price list (for purchases of $1,500 and up). They have the Bros. 3" nine shot series listed at $52.50 wholesale per case (2/1). If you get in on their early order program you can save 5% and if you pay in advance you can take another 5% off. I have seen the videos of these products and they look pretty good to me. Any of you folks that have seen these in person do you think they are worth this price? Do you think they would be worth the retail price? Doubled and then some. I'll be waiting to see what others will be charging.
Sorry just noticed this info in the buying forum. Would delete but can't.

I would imagine our wholesale cost out here would be around $75-$80 maybe?

They are nice in person, and i think that they will be a hot seller if the pricing is affordable for people...

I just checked out the web site for Spirit of '76. They have 3" 9s listed at $79.90 per case. I assume this is the regular wholesale price. I thought the new gold price list I received was a pre order price but looking at it again I noticed it didn't say anything about pre order. They usually send me a pre order list then a regular list later. I wonder, is this new gold list the price one can expect to pay if they don't pre order or what?
Also, I talked to Dee at Hale Fireworks and she told me that Brothers has made two 3" 9s exclusively for Hale F/W consisting of different effects than the regular line. She wasn't sure of the price of these items at the time so she did not quote me a price. I'll bet their prices will be better than most places.

From what i understand, the prices online must be the "silver" pricelist, when your order is between $500.00(the minimum) and $1500.00. The "gold" pricelist which we received is for orders over $1500.00. Not sure if they are giving even better prices for pre-order or if they just re-did the way they are doing things and maybe now pre-order=gold pricelist.
Did the people at hale's say what the effects were going to be in "their" version of the 3" 9s?

I don't plan on buying from '76 no time soon so I won't be calling them to find out what all this means. I have found that dealing with them can get a little confusing.

I knew someone would ask what the effects would be for the Hale versions but I am sorry to say that I don't know. I guess I was so excited to hear about it that I forgot to ask what they would be.

Where i live they would probably cost that much. (each!) If i could, i would definately pay at least $50 for them. They are great.

Lets say you pay $50 each. $100 for a case of 2/1.. You get 18 shots for $100.

From the same $100 I could buy a 25 shot HDPE- milk carton rack and a case of Iron Revengers. 72 shots.

They are cool, but you are still getting bent over. It reminds me of the Brothers All Star collection & Brothers Choice. You get 4 different cakes in each case. But you do not get 12/1 200-Gram cakes only 8/1! For almost the same price of a 12/1 case. You give away 4 cakes for the mix.

Did any 1 light 1 of these off at new years, or has any 1 actually seen one of these things go off in person, They look impressive as far as shelf appeal but im just wondering if they are as good as '' scuba-diver'' ''the good stuff '' or any of those other larger 12 shot cakes, i know if i wanted to buy 1 in new hampshire they are going to be huge $$$$, if they even pass them for sale in NH, im just looking for a firework that will be a real jaw dropper that still legal to buy... so if you have blasted 1 of these off please let me know which 1 and were you that impressed, thanks

Go for the Knockout Brocade, it was the most impressive IMO. Yes it is bigger that Good Stuff/Scuba Diver.

We fired all four last night. Jeff had a couple at his test shoot and I had the other two at home. The breaks are big, but they are also under-lifted. They need either more lift charge, or smaller tubes. I saw several shots go off way too low to the ground.

The breaks are bigger than what you get with Scuba Diver or The Good Stuff, but they're not all that much bigger. I wouldn't pay a ridiculous price for these racks. I paid $25 each and that was too much in my opinion.

James,

I have to agree with you, I would NOT pay what they will be asking for retail or really even wholesale for these.

The problem is they are NOT underlifted, but those BIG 3 INCH TUBES, really only hold a 2 inch shell that is "sleaved" to fit the 3 inch tube, so really you are loosing some serious compression with that sleaving. That is my opinion anyway.

I was disappointed in them. We had 1 low break and one with the wrong shell in it.
It was the brocade one and shot #5 was all red.

Merged threads again.

Please check if there is a thread about a topic before you create a new thread about that same topic.

Thanks

I also moved this to Recommendations and Reviews since that seems more appropriate and maybe it will prevent duplicate threads.

Are you sure its a 3" shell in there? I would be greatly dissapointed if it is. I'd rather have a case of Loud and Rowdy for 2" 9 shot cakes or racks or whatever you wanna call it.

its a 2 inch shell with a 1 inch sleeve to make it big enough around to fit in the 3 inch tube
just a marketing trick to get more of your $$$

NO, There is NO 3" shell in there. It is a 2" shell, trust me. I have Loud & Rowdy here right now. Now that is a real nice 500g cake. I save the spent cakes for reloading. It makes a nice 9 shot rack.

Not looking so good for these things.. They look nice, but too pricey

Of the few shot in Mexico and I did see one low break and I also saw "one with the wrong shell in it" also.. I guess it is all about what you have to pay for them. Maybe if they could be had for $20.00 each. Not likely here on the westcoast.

Maybe Loud and Rowdy/Pow Bam would be a better deal for the loot!!http://www.my-smileys.de/smileys2/Cash.gif

I wish they would spend more money on the quality of the firework rather than the packaging. If Im going to pay more for a product I expect it to be better quality rather than more expensive packaging.

I'd say the price for me would have to drop down to about $16 each before I would buy these again. When I consider the price I pay for Scuba Diver, Cowboy, etc., these 9-shot racks just aren't worth it. When I think about the $80 some people paid for these, I feel bad for them.

PyroReview

I shot all four 3" 9 shot cakes for New Years. They're not bad if you can pick them up for a good price. They're a bit nicer than Phantom's #500 tubes, such as the Round Red Dahlia. The breaks are loud and symmetrical. About the only thing I didn't like about them was the fact that it was the same effect 9 times for each cake.
