Was looking around the web trying to find laws in my state regarding fireworks and found out a few things i didn't know:

(c) It shall be unlawful to explode or ignite fireworks within five hundred (500) feet of any church, hospital, asylum, unharvested, flammable agricultural crop, public school or where fireworks are stored, sold or offered for sale. No person shall ignite or discharge any permissible articles of fireworks within or throw the same from a motor vehicle; nor shall any person place or throw any ignited article of fireworks into or at such a motor vehicle or at or near any group of people.

Well, the bit about being 500 feet from a church is a bit surprising as I do most of my shows in church parking lots and my show sponsors are churches. I think I can understand the other items in the list. Though, if I was in a hospital I might want to see some fireworks to cheer me up. Though, I can imagine there would be people who would not want to see Pyro when they are ill.

Like schools and school property that restricts un authorised personel.
It is legal to shoot a display for the church or school but it must be sactioned by the church or school .
The restrictions come from a federal law concerning hate crimes and terrorism.
