Here they are!!! Special thanks to camjoe63 for his excellent design. With the pdf. tis was pleasure to measure and cut as opposed to a chore. Also, thanks to Trevor and the www.pyroboom.com crew. Ordered late on a Tuesday and got them by Friday. Awesome service and trevor quickly answered all my e-mails. There were 3 racks but I gave one away as aThank You to my friend!!!

ps- no sign on how to secure the spacers. I simply tacked them with a finish nail, one on both sides. is this OK?
waiting for mortars!?!?!?!

WOW....picture #1... would that be you trying to figure out how to get the spacers in place once you attached the bottom rails ??????...

I like that rack. I may actually convert some of mine over to that design.....LOL

If it was up to me I would glue and nail the spacers to one side of the rail before you put the other side on. That way both sides get ample glue. I posted a jig that I made to do just that. It will make the rack sturdy over time.

Nice job on that rack BTW... it's the closest that I have seen people built that had posted a picture of it.

Are those nails or screws holding the side rails together?

Edit: Joe, thanks for everything. The cad drawing made it so simple. As for nailing the spacers, I hoped to use this as an excuse to buy a nail gun , but when finishing the RC Racks, my Router crapped out.
Joe,
Quite right !!! I did have to unscrew the bottom rail to get the spacers in:brick:
Thanks!! thats high praise coming fron the designer!!

The big one can hold up to 360 roman Candles, the smaller ones will hold 150. Unfortunately, my router crapped out on me so i won't be able to finish them til I get a new one.

Dracoe2...

Just a little more info on those racks you are building. A Pyro member here used a 24 shot version of my rack design as an RC holder. It fused up real easy and was a sight to see when it was lit.

Hang Ten RC's fit 4 in each slot for a total of 96 candles.

Paint Ball RC's fit six in each slot for a total of 144 candles.

My point is why create another type of rack when you can use the ones like mine for more then 1 purpose. My .02

Next year I am planning on hosting rack building event at my house in the Spring for those that want to build my design but don't have the equiptment to do so.

Where are the end boards for the racks ?????

Nope. That's just what building racks do to you. For some unknown reason, it makes you contort. 8o

Joe,

My point is why create another type of rack when you can use the ones like mine for more then 1 purpose. My .02

Was never my intention, not to multipurpose you rack design But....
I can't use your racks to shoot Excal,s and Rc"s at the same time.(well not at the same time but during the same shoot) With the RC Racks I'm going for something like this:
http://www.pyrouniverse.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4384

So, with some scrap wood and 3 donated 2x4's, I borrowed albone's design from here:
http://www.pyrouniverse.com/forum/showthread.php?t=21991&highlight=racks+09
and built the first RC! 2x4 and chicken wire is cheaper for now. Wanted to do several stations, firing off close together and Crossing each other( XX XXX XX),so with what I had I started on some smaller ones. One of the major problems I've had is that, the big shoot I do at the Beach each year( about $2000), every time I mention fusing or racks or mortars, my family(Except Mrs. dracoe) all seem to a slighty scared, OMG he's gonna blown us up! look on their faces. :brick::brick::brick: This past year, I met with resistance when I did this:
http://www.pyrouniverse.com/gallery2/data/1017/medium/1stRC_bucket.JPG
Everyone who was worried about it, did apologize and congradulate me. The best comments were, "man, I though RC's were kinda dinky but light abunch off at once, COOL..."

Since, for some reason it has become MY RESPONSIBILITY:lol: to make the Show better each year and I had become the "lead Tech". Thats when I found the U!!! I thought to bring them along a bit slower. If I do some small RC racks and maybe a 3shot version of your design to mimick a NOAB, they would get more comfortable with this and realize its more bang for the buck! The 6shots are for me to enjoy with my Pyro Bud. In fact, I gave him the first one as a Thank You(with pyroboom tubes), so we can shoot more out at his place. Since he retails, is a business expense for research right?:D

Next year I am planning on hosting rack building event at my house in the Spring for those that want to build my design but don't have the equiptment to do so.
Would love to do something like this, it would be awesome!! But New England is very far away and work doesn't let get away often. Let me know when abouts and I'll try to see if I can make.

Where are the end boards for the racks ?????

Joe
I am sorry but only had enough in the budget for two full sheets. The end boards will have to wait until I find some more money. If you notice, I'm also a couple Eye-bolts short too. Its next on my list, then a new router and maybe a nail gun and of course adding to the stash. I won't be shooting til next June, at least not my stuff. Does this help make you feel better?

Dracoe2...

Painting my name on the racks you built goes beyond Thanks in my book. I am gld you like the design and I hope you will post a video of them in action.

Eric...

You are top notch guy in my book… that’s from doing business with you and the feedback you receive here on Pyro-U. We have never met but I can get a good sense of character by words spoken from others directed towards you. Christ you have your own thread dedicated to Pyroboom. That’s your baby… Enough said.

If you really want to hook me up then keep me in mind when I have my rack building event next spring…. I may even treat Dracoe2 to come up and stay and join in on the fun.

"Imitation is the most sincere form of flatery". Its your design, your drawing that I used to cut everything, why shouldn't I paint it on the rack. you did all the hard work!!:D I simply painted by numbers , you made it soo easy!

Eric,
Ditto to what Joe said. Once I found this site and realize that making my own racks was possible, I searched high and low for HDPE pipe to cut and plug my own. Searched a little more and found the
'pyroboom Thread that Camjoe mentioned. After seeing the positive, nay, glowing, response from every one who has ever ordered from you, (one bad comment and that was a shipping complaint and not your fault that you went way above and beyond to correct in my book,) it was a no brainer to order my mortars from you. know that your reputation proceeds you and rolls out the red carpet as you go!! Even your choice of partners, Trevor, serves you and your family well!! I ordered late(around 8:30) and got aconfirmation within 2 hrs from TB. everything was processed quickly and , despite the fact I got called into work Delivery day and not be there to recieve the order,Tb was quick to reassure me that it was ok. many thanks to you guys!!!

Edit: The Pic labeled "Waiting for Mortars" in the OP, was taken about 3 minutes after I placed my order!!!

Joe,
that is truely touching. it would be an honor. i would love to come up and, so as you know, i would be happy to attend. just let me know which weekend and I'll try to get off of work. PM me a zip code so I can plan. No treat but I appreciate the offer, but time allowance is the problem.if I can make I'll bring a chop saw and drill. And Maybe a gift for you. Psst- a Copy of the RC rack you razzed me about.

PS- Mrs. Dracoe says it ok as long as its not around April 20th, Thats our annivesary and if I miss that then I'll be staying in New england!:lolbash: i told her spring in NE was , what late June , early July, Right!?!?!?!
