Made a few of these 50 shot racks this year. Cut out alot of wood from last years model and no finish except a very light clear coat. went from 15s to 12's sooooo much lighter. I can carry these loaded if i have to myself. Still not happy though.. prolly build some new 40 shot racks soon with 5 rows of 8 mortars and spacers.

very nice rack. hahaha. I would replace the bottom rails with OSB, but Im pretty sure you have your reasons for not doing so.
it looks light, use some sandbags to keep it from flying away. hahaha.
I like your sig. btw. I dont smoke (probably never will, I hear its too hard to quit), but I must say thats very logical. hahaha.

I bought some 2x6s at lowes and the rest is scrap wood from work.
The bottom rails are veneered particle board.. breaks similar to osb but looks better. This is mostly made of scrap door jambs. the top rails are veneered plywood.

No, Lowes and other home improvement stores do not sell HDPE DR11 pipe (if you find one that does you will be god). Also, DO NOT use PVC pipe, ever.
You buy this pipe online at stores dedicated to pyro supplies. The kind you want is HDPE DR11, 12" or 15". Check out pyroboom.com

any store will carry HDPE, you need to find the largest diameter tube you can and shoot 10 of the smallest shells you have out of it at the same time. (the guys signature above me says "The post beneath this one is a lie... " I might as well lie.) :lolbash:

Thank you guys for the help. Will start construction this weekend. Maybe get tubes in by aug 14 and be able to finish. Think im going to make a 20 shot.
