Up until recently I have only fired rockets out of bottles. While I am not quite ready to build a true rack yet, I was wondering if it would work to place the rockets into a bucket that is filled with sand about halfway up? This is how I was planning to fire my candles and I wondered if it would work for the rockets. I understand that I can't push them all the way into the sand, but I just wanted to embed them a little and prop them up on the side of the bucket at the proper angle. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

Not a good idea to push the stick down in sand, it will diminish the lift of the rockets, if they take of at all. Smaller rockets would not have enough lift to take off. You need a tube of some sort to put the stick of the rocket in. This is one instance where it is O.K. to use lengths of pvc pipe to use as rocket launch guides. You can put the pipes in the sand bucket to hold them, angle them where you want them, and then put the stick of the rocket in the pipes.
