Western NYer who knows this state will NEVER make em legal!
I will have to visit my friend in Lima OH more often and buy and paint while I visit.
Have a friend who goes to Phantom Erie for the 4th each year. Spends a few G and does A GREAT SHOW. Over a hour solid! He knows he pays too much, put says "you want to dance you gatta pay!" :D
So, ya lucky non NY dogs have a great forth.

it doesn't matter where he winds up shopping just so long as he doesn't drop 2k at phantom ever again. that almost made me :puke: , because i did it about 2 years ago. i just don't want to see anyone do that ever again :D. let him know he can get everything he got for 2k at phantom for about 5oo at a good wholesaler like millers. and if he's in lima he's only about an hour away, hour and a half at the most....it's not far off the highway, just zip straight up 75

Miller's is about 4 -5 hours from us in NY. Price is really not an issue to him - time and getting them back home is.
I guess fireworks is just ONE MORE reason to leave NY ;)

yeah it's quite a haul from NY....but your buddy in lima is basicly right down the road. if he's into pyro that much he should definatley check out other options. 2k at a good wholesaler is around 2000 pounds of pyro. thats a far cry from the 4 or 5 hundred pounds he's getting at phantom for that price.
seriously man sounds like your buddy is big into pyro....and he'd be real happy if he were to discover the wonders of wholesaling.

If you're from W NY, join WNYPA. Get the discount and go to Kellners! It's about an hour and a half beyond Phantom of Erie, and it's also 30 min east of WFBoom. For the kind of $$ he spends, you'd clean up! Trust me- once you go to Kellners, there's no looking back!
Anyhow, there are many more reasons to join than the discount- meeting LOTS of cool guys with similar interests, and TONS of experience. We are also active in the fight to keep our hobby/business viable in NY. Legal consumer fireworks will be a very hard fought battle, but we're also concerned with display fireworks and hobbyists. The latter two are in serious jeapordy if the DOL gets it's way!
They are a great group of people, and they have made me a much safer and more knowledgeable pyro. We also do some club shoots for benefits, as well as having 2-3 club picnics a year. I met the guy I shoot display shows for through this group.
Our Monthly meetings are in the Buffalo area, so they're not too far from you.
