I have read several threads and only found clear answers on small stuff.
1)What is the range of acceptable Inside diameter for the following sizes of shells?
2)What is most common?
3)Any shell brands of shells or types that will cause a problem?
2"
2 1/2"
3"
4"
5"
6"
Thanks,
Eric

hello Eric,
check out our site http://www.pyrogear.com/ it shows the correct sizes and ID's for all size mortars. they only thing you have to watch out for it 2.5" there are a variation in shell sizes from brand to brand. some are much tighter going down the tube then others.

Hi persut,
Is there a direct link to the ID's? I've been browsing around and I know that you guys have alot of different tubes, just wondering if you're referring to a specific doc or something.
Thanks,
Chris

Look at this page http://www.pyrogear.com/ccp0-catshow/display_fireworks_mortar_tube.html and it shows the DR #, the I.D. along with the tube length. You can base the info you're inquiring about off of what they sell.

Thanks for the info. I was at the Twi-light Fire & Illusion class and shoot in St louis yesterday with yeagerb and a few others from the forum. I measured the tubes we used. The 3" tubes were 2 7/8", 2 15/16", and a few 3". The 4" were 3 7/8" and 3 15/16". The 5" tubes were 4 7/8", 4 15/16", and 5". I think I can assume 6" tubes end up with similar sizes. The real concern appears to be the small stuff.
