I got some free HDPE pipes today about 80 feets of it,but I'm not to sure if its the right kind. The guy said they were putting in new gas pipes and I knew that HDPE were used for that.I compare with my other HDPE pipe and it seems like it the same. The pipes says it SDR-11

If its HDPE you can use it for consumer(1.4g) shells but the only problem is you need to straighten it out because it looks kinda "curled".
Here are the difference's i could find!
Yellow Pipe 2" SDR-11 2406
Has a long term hydrostatic strength pressure rating of 1250 psi
And a internal pressure value of 125 psi
Black Pipe 2" SDR-11 3408
Has a long term hydrostatic strength pressure rating of 1600 psi
And a internal pressure value of 160 psi
As far as the Inside Diameter it will work fine.

The curves make it easier to angle your rack:lol:

I have used the curved pipe before. I have unlimited access to it, but still I buy the straight pipe with the UV inhibitor. In fact, I threw out about 20 feet of it today.
The two racks I made using the curved yellow are milk crate racks. I cut them at 12" and stuffed them into a crate, glueing and screwing everything together of course. It works great. There is no reasonable way to straighten it out. Firing shells a couple times will help them relax a little. As far as using them with the curve, as suggested above without forcing them straight may not be as safe.

Bruce you can heat them up with a heat gun to get the pipe to relax a little. Then thing would be to have a jig of some kind to brace the pipe in while it relaxes.

Yeah i got about 105 ft. of black HDPE that came on the rolls so it was all crooked. But i cut them in 15" lengths and after stuffing them into a rack they all straightend (straightened?) (straitened?) out really good. And another thing is that this pipe was SDR 13.5. I wasn't very happy when i saw that but after testing about 10 shells and seeing that they all got up just as high as my SDR 11 tubes i was ok. But yeah, just look around on places that are just putting in new subdivisions and they sometimes just have the pipe laying around waiting to be thrown in the dump. God bless,
