If you guys have room for another 1.3 shoot on friday night or saturday night let me know... I might setup a 3 to 5 minute fairly loaded sync show with the wireless Q-Fire.

I can speak on the Roman candle thing... I would not call it a "Board" as it will be anything but. The wives are planning something, I will leave my wife to elaborate on that when she gets a chance.

I would wait for Z to respond in a definate manner, but I am guessing what he will say is:
On Saturday there is ALWAYS room for another shooter and a nother show.

It may seem funny that we are asking questions about food preferences this far away from the event but there is actually some reasoning behind it. We grow much of the food we eat and part of this weekend we will provide stuff made by ourselves. If it’s burgers we’ll make ketchup from our heirloom tomatoes, mayo from our hens, relish from our garden. If we decide on spaghetti Lezlie needs 120 days to let a wheel of Parmesan cheese age.
If we decide to dress Don up in a grass skirt and have him do a hula while we feast on a luau we’d like to have a farmer friend raise the right pig. We'd also need to bring some palm fronds back from the West Coast.
The only complaint last year is we didn’t socialize enough and it may get accomplished better as a group if we break bread together.

Quite a ways back. I will have Don clear some of the tree line so I can get back far enough. It would be a press box view. We may have to get at a slight angle and aim down the line a bit instead of straight on.

Ok so I had a few moments to be absorbed by pyro. I would love to have all the ladies show what we're made of when it comes to pyro. I will now call it the ladies board so that we do not exclude those who like pyro but are not married. Suggestions will be welcomed. I was also thinking that it would be good to try and fuse up as much as possible and prepare it on Friday so that there is not as much to do one Saturday since the women seem to get sucked into all sorts of other things on Saturday. I am not opposed to 1.3 but I have no ability to bring any myself so that would have to be up to others to bring. Other than that any 1.4 would be what we are looking mostly at. Lets get our brains together and figure out different ideas. If one of the ladies out there might have more time than myself to organize this, please let me know so that I don't loose my mind (work and my intership are going to take the majority of my time this fall). Thanks all.

As I pack to move it occurred to me that we have a very special Imperial sized (equal to 9 bottles) signed Pinot Noir that needs to be drank this year. I can't think of a better bunch of people to share it with but it's a tough call around pyro. I need a call from the mob.
I'm pretty sure we have Starbucks on board to donate the coffee and a couple of competitive cooking teams may take on the challenge of doing a Friday night wing ding. I've been thinking "cheap and cheerful" but do you want it a little nicer? I'm thinking cheap $6-8 to higher end $15 for a kewl party. With effective mooching and begging we should be able to get the costs down for this worthy cause.
Ideas that are being kicked around include:
Pulled pork on buns with kicked up slaw. (cheap)
Whole pig in a pig luau (higher end)
Argentinan steaks with garlic/cilantro sauce (higher end)
Migrant worker fiesta, Napa style (Medium)
The Pope may show up Sunday Supper (Cheap to Med)
Please give me some input.

Farmer keeps making hungry ;) As for adult beverages Saturday only after the shoot is complete and tubes cleared. Now for Friday day/night after everything is said and done we do not have a problem with a beer or two for socializing. I had a few while I was announcing the demos to keep from getting dry mouth with all the fountains :) but I was done for the night shooting wise of course Don is the host and he has final say.

I must chime in on this "Meal" party thing. If we are planning something where the idea is to actually get the pyros together and relax and have a meal, we definately should not plan this on saturday. As has already been attested Saturday becomes a very short day. Most of us pyros are used to working all day for a few minutes of glory and trying to PRY people away from their projects is not a good idea. If we are going to plan any sort of a meet and greet/get together/social/meal, that should definately be Friday. This is also one of the reasons I would also reccomend against any kind of moderate to large display on friday. If we are planning the bonfire for post activities friday, those who are working that show/tearing down/clearing tubes and doing whatever else it is they do would not be there, much like the bonfire last year on Saturday, I don't think I saw any of the 1.3 guys there because they were still in the field.
My thoughts are small fun and minor prep for saturday on friday, maybe some boards and a few demos, but nothing extravogant, save the show for saturday. let's all get together and relax on friday.
Just my thoughts, sorry if it is long winded or preechy.

Smiles would be good. It really depends on what you wish to do. You pretty much can participate at any level from just watching or you can shoot some stuff, put on a show or help out with group stuff.
Give the mob an idea of what you want to do so we can help more.

Farmer beat me to it. I was going to say that you needed to bring eight ounce steaks for everyone.
I just showed up last year and met some really good people. You don't need to bring anything. I'll have my family there as well. Wife, 5yr old, 3yr old, and 3 month old.

I used to go in with some group buys from Patriotic and have had good smaller shows in Virginia. I now live in Oklahoma City and haven't been afforded the time to really get back into it. Although I usually overspend right before the 4th.
At this event I wouldn't want to do a show but perhaps shoot some items off and primarily get in touch with others that have similar interests and learn new things (been wanting an e-fire kit for a few years now).
What part of the year do most of the people in this area do wholesale purchases?
Is this a place where people can buy fireworks as well or do we have to bring what we would like to shoot?

There will be a group buy from some where. Could be Jakes??? Crazy Debbies??? Hales, Shnieters, Big Fireworks, or someone else. Couple people from up north usually bring some stuff down from Victory as well.

<ost people in general do their buying in the spring demo season.
Last year we had a group buy wth Jakes and there was also stuff from Victory. I thinkthere has been discussion about a possible buy from Bigs. So, Yes, there will be opportunity to buy.
There is always a BIG need for help on any group projects that are going on. We will see what gets planned and where you might want to help out.
