Pressure Treated.

As for it falling apart, mine are kept in a garage for storage and have been fine for a few years now.

I only bring them out once a year.

Deweycoon, I've been meaning to ask you after I read that your bottom board is 21" and I was wondering what about the height? By the way, beautiful work.

The sides measure 13 inches.

In my opinion, PT is overkill, as you should not be storing them in the elements anyway.

If you do decide to use PT, make sure you us ACQ rated fasteners, the new stuff they use to treat the wood will eat a normal fastner in less than a year.

Put a regular 5/8 lag screw into a piece of ACQ treated lumber, wait 6 months and remove it and there won't be much left.

lol...someone should make thier racks out of some composite decking material and stainless hardware.

it would cost a fortune but thoes racks would survive a nuclear holocaust.

if there were ever a large scale nuclear attack....all that would be left would be cockroaches and trex decks.

A nuke would be a hell of a way to light all the fuses at once.

Uhhh, I just finished two 30 shot angle racks out of aluminum frames and aluminum and stainless fasteners, the rack without guns weighs 6lbs!

Woah! Definately must see some pictures. My wood rocket rack was left in the elements! Snow, Rain, NY Winter weather....I have since put them back in but not looking too good. Hopefully its only surface and I can sand it down a bit
