Sorry if this is a double post but I searched previous threads and couldn't come up with the answer.

If need be, is it possible to cut a 15" fiberglass mortar down to 12" to accomodate some "low end" shells I have kicking around without damaging the overall safety and structure of the mortar. Or would it be better just to drill a sight hole at about the 12" mark to feed the fuse through. I've seen this done with HDPE but not fiberglass.

Thanks...

I use a mitre saw to cut all my tubes, it will cut through anything that isnt hard like metal or concrete, and both ends of the tubes are perfectly square.

That's a good idea I haven't thought about before. It's strange, just this morning I was thinking about getting some hdpe but was contemplating on how to cut it since I no longer have access to a band saw. I do have a mitre box/chop saw though.
